The Visiting Scholars Program at the Program on Chinese Cities (PCC), UNC–Chapel Hill welcomes outstanding applicants who are eager to contribute to our research community and expand their professional and academic horizons.
Our program is designed for scholars, faculty, students, and practitioners who share an interest in advancing the understanding of urban and regional development in China, the U.S., and beyond.
Application Requirements
To be considered for the PCC Visiting Scholars Program, applicants should:
- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree
- Advanced degrees (Master’s, PhD) are strongly encouraged for academic scholars.
- Have experience in related fields
- Applicants should demonstrate a background that aligns with one or more of PCC’s core research directions, such as urban planning, sustainable development, governance, transportation, environment, communities and public health, or public policy.
- Demonstrate strong English proficiency and communication skills
- The program requires active engagement with faculty, peers, and the broader UNC community.
- Submit a solid research plan
- A well-prepared proposal outlining research questions, objectives, and methods is essential.
